Immigrant Americans are an essential part of the United State’s civic and political fabric. Citizens for Language Access, a table of voting and immigrant rights organizations representing over 15 language minority communities in Philadelphia, in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Office of Immigrant Affairs, is working to ensure that language is not a barrier for any US citizen to exercise their fundamental right to vote. The event will also highlight the positive role multilingual poll workers can serve on election day, as well as provide a forum for state and local elections officials to continue collaboration with immigrant communities on expanding language access going forward.
