AAU’s 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival
Date: Sep 18 2021, 4:30 pm - 7:30 pmLocation: 10th and Vine Street Plaza
For 2021, our communities have continued to come together in new ways to keep each other safe, healthy, and strong. We are moving forward from a year with too many local incidents of anti-Asian bias and violence, to this Festival where we are able to share with everyone pride in our cultures. As we kick-off our mix of virtual and in-person programming for the 26th Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival, we are remembering and looking forward to times when we can come together again in-person, filling the streets of Chinatown with our joy and celebrations. This year, each day leading up to September 21, we will showcase online beautifully-crafted videos from beloved local performers and artists.
On Saturday, September 18, 2021, 4:30pm- 7:30-pm we will be holding a Lantern Parade. We will kick off the event with lantern making activities at 4:30pm at the 10th and Vine Street Plaza, and start the parade at 6:00pm traveling through Chinatown and to the ICE office to advocate for family reunification, and then return to the 10th and Vine Street Plaza. All participants must be masked throughout the Lantern Parade event.
