PICC is very sad to report that one of Pennsylvania’s wonderful immigrant rights leaders, Jorge Perez-Rico, has died suddenly and unexpectedly.  Jorge was a Board member of PICC member organization Casa de la Cultura in Gettysburg and a PICC Board member.  He was a dedicated and inspiring leader. All of us in the immigrant and advocacy community in Pennsylvania will feel his loss greatly.  Our hearts go out to his family and friends.

My dear friend Jorge,

I am glad that life put us on the same path and that we had the opportunity to meet each other.  I will forever hold your friendship close to my heart.  Over the years of working together, you became part of my family.  Thank you for being a great teacher.  Your passion for helping others has been passed along to your wonderful family and the community over the years.  Your dedication for immigrant rights has been and will forever be remembered by your loved ones, the community you built for your family and friends in Gettysburg, and the generations to come.

Thank you for fulfilling our lives with your kindness.

We will forever miss you and hold you close to our hearts.
