Webinar on “public charge” policies

Date: Apr 19 2018, 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Location: Online Webinar

We are hosting a webinar led by Maripat Pileggi from Community Legal Services of Philadelphia about proposed changes to “public charge” policies.

The Department of Homeland Security has drafted new rules redefining “public charge” policies.  If these rules go into effect, some immigrants may be forced to choose between enrolling their families (including their U.S. citizen children) in key benefits programs (like Medicaid, Food Stamps, LIHEAP and WIC) and jeopardizing their immigration status and ability to stay united with their families in the U.S.  The new rules are expected to be published very soon.  Once they are published, there will be a 30-60 day period to submit comments.

Join this webinar to learn about the proposed new rules, how you can submit comments in opposition to the new rules, and how you can advocate to keep immigrant access to benefits. Please register today!
