A training for providers, advocates, and community leaders

This training is open to social service and health care providers, advocates, social workers, case managers, community educators, and anyone who assists the immigrant community in accessing needed public benefits services. The skill based and participatory training focuses on how to determine eligibility and apply for various services for members of the immigrant community.

Topics covered include:

* Immigration status in determining eligibility for services
* Eligibility rules for major programs including Food Stamps, SSI, Cash Assistance, and Energy Assistance
* Addressing barriers to care
* Effectively advocating for your clients

Featured trainer: John S. Whitelaw, staff attorney with Community Legal Services

Cost: $40 for non PICC members. $35 for PICC members that have paid their dues in the current fiscal year.
